Join the Charlevoix Yacht Club!
Thank you for considering membership in the Charlevoix Yacht Club. As a member of the
CYC you will have the chance to participate in many club activities while meeting other area
boaters. Powerboat and cruising sailboat members explore new destinations and
rendezvous at the end of the day to share their experiences, providing an excellent
opportunity to expand your knowledge of both local and offshore waters. Sailors participate
from May to October on Lake Charlevoix in Wednesday evening race series and weekend
offshore races. The traditional Labor Day weekend Red Fox Regatta draws sailboats from all
over the Great Lakes to compete. This regatta provides an excellent opportunity for all
members to get involved either on the water or at social gatherings at the end of the race
The CYC, established in 1970, is a club made up of about 200 local and non-local boating
enthusiasts. While boat ownership is not required, most of our members do own boats. The
CYC maintains the Club facility at 209 Ferry Avenue, staffed by mostly volunteers. The Club
is open Friday evenings, and Wednesday evenings May-October. Annual social events
typically include a Casino Night, Commodore’s Ball, and various holiday parties. Special
events are publicized on the club website, weekly email updates, and a quarterly newsletter.
The facility is available to rent by members in good standing for two years.
Membership runs for a calendar year January-December, and is confirmed with a
membership card that is reciprocated nationally with many other yacht clubs. Membership is
application, payment of dues, and board review. A sponsor is recommended. We invite
you to visit us at the club on a Wednesday race evening 7 to 10 p.m., or any Friday evening
from 6 to 9 p.m., or check out our website and forms at: If you
